This desk lighting concept explores how play and motion can expand the function of a task light. The prototype features a welded metal frame on two wheels, a sliding arm that allows the light to travel along the structure, and a fabric light housing that softens and diffuses illumination across the work surface. The metal frame doubles as a magnetic surface, transforming the fixture into a flexible station for notes, photos, and reminders. Inspired by bicycles, children’s recess, and adult hand fidgets, the design invites users to roll, slide, and reposition the light as part of their focus routine, while the reduced screw count and emphasis on welded connections keep the form visually clean, durable, and structurally clear.
