This sensory activity kit was developed by GIG Design’s team of occupational therapy practitioners to accompany whole-person curricula and guide clients through values-led lifestyle change. Using reflective journaling and sensory-related activities of daily living, clients identified what mattered most and self-directed their motivation toward a single, top-priority habit.

The kit is grounded in the Tree Model, an occupation-based framework that uses the metaphor of a tree to connect values, roles, and actionable strategies into a clear plan for behavior change. Clients moved from reflection to concrete action steps for building lifestyle habits aligned with who they want to be and become.

A key feature of the kit is a custom journal that doubles as a kickstand frame: a houseware-style object that can sit on a surface as a visual reminder to prompt action and focused effort. The simple three-part design—an approximately 8x4x1 inch piece of wood, paper, and a pen—turns written intentions into an integrated, everyday cue in the client’s environment.

Unlike a traditional workbook, this resource is highly activity-based and designed to integrate thought and action around sensory modulation. The kit includes sensory-focused objects and guided activities so clients can experiment, notice what works for them, and refine their personalized routines over time.
