What is Beast Mode Nutrition?
An opportunity to learn and apply mindfulness-based practices for achieving mindful eating offered in partnership with CKO Kickboxing Grand Rapids.

Each 90-minute interactive class includes instruction, discussion and activities. Practicing mindfulness directly influences grocery shopping and dining-out, as well as your social, work, and personal food struggles. Anita will teach you tools learned through her study of mindfulness, including her certificate course in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.

How often do we meet?
First class is May 7 then each consecutive Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30pm through May 28. The first and final day of class includes a 15-minute appointment for measuring and tracking goals.

Where do we meet?
Classes will be held in an open workspace located at 1059 Wealthy Street Southeast in downtown Grand Rapids.

What is the cost and what does that include?
Beast Mode Nutrition is open to both CKO Kickboxing members and non-members for a flat fee of $129. Classes teach and practice mindfulness-based tools. Daily structured emails will inspire daily practice and accountability for best results at the end of 3-weeks. Handouts and activity props are provided. Progress is tracked with a body composition scale and with a self-reported performance assessment.

How many classes are required attendance?
Four classes will offer best goal results.

What exactly is the nutrition side of Beast Mode Nutrition?
Each class provides opportunities to discuss our experiences with daily nutrition-related choices.  The amount or types of nutrition, calories, or macros, isn’t included in the curriculum.

Is there one-to-one consulting or an accountability structure included?
You will meet with Anita for a 15-minute appointment both the first and last day of class. Classes are designed to be interactive discussions that naturally create accountability partnerships.

How will our results be tracked?
We will track your body composition changes with a body composition scale including weight, body fat, body water, muscle mass, bone mass, recommended daily caloric intake, physique rating, and visceral fat level. Your self-reported performance will be tracked with questions from the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM). Questions include the areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.

Will there be a reward at the end?
Yes! At the end of the Beast Mode Nutrition, you receive a Stay Gold t-shirt.

Additional Perks

Registrants get 2 CKO Kickboxing class passes at the first meeting. You may use these yourself or give them away. Also, each class attended will enter you into a drawing for one free 30-minute personal training session with one of our personal trainers. This includes pad training to improve technique but also general full-body training using traditional resistance-based gym equipment, heavy boxing bags, and body weight.
